MONTEREY PARK —?Fans of all ages are invited to celebrate Hello Kitty’s 50th birthday on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library, 318 S. Ramona Ave.

There will be activities for children, teens and adults, including a visit from Hello Kitty.
Hello Kitty’s Kawaii 50th Birthday Bash from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Storytime Room and Friends Room. Celebrate Hello Kitty’s birthday with a special meet and greet with the birthday girl, games and a chance to win a super-cute prize. The winners of the Kawaii Kitty Art Contest will also be revealed. This program is for all ages.

Back to 1974. Decorate a canvas coin purse from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Friends Room. Adults are invited to celebrate Hello Kitty by painting a coin purse and meeting other fans.

Hello Kitty Scavenger Hunt at the Children’s Desk. Explore the Children’s Department by searching for Hello Kitty and her friends to uncover one of Hello Kitty’s favorite quotes.
Hello Kitty and Friends Headbands at 2 p.m. in the Storytime Room. Children can celebrate Hello Kitty’s birthday by making their own headbands.

Hello Kitty DIY BFF Picture Frames from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Friends Room. Teens will decorate a picture frame featuring Hello Kitty and friends to keep or give to their best friend. This event is for teens aged 13-18.
